How many maps does Hell Let Loose: Vietnam have?

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launched with six large-scale maps inspired by real-world locations (official store description): Đắk Tô Airfield, Thanh Hóa Bridge, Huế Outskirts, Cam Ranh Port, Quảng Ngãi and Vạn Tường. The official description puts the setting as "vast mountain gorges and thick jungle," with Vietnam's river network running through the map pool — which is exactly why patrol boats exist.

The six launch maps

Map Named for Seen in
Đắk Tô Airfield The Đắk Tô battlefield and its airstrip Domination gameplay footage
Thanh Hóa Bridge The famously defended Hàm Rồng bridge Launch map pool
Huế Outskirts The outskirts of Huế city Launch map pool
Cam Ranh Port The deep-water port complex Offensive gameplay footage
Quảng Ngãi Quảng Ngãi province terrain Warfare gameplay footage
Vạn Tường The Vạn Tường battle area Conquest gameplay footage

Four of the six have been shown in official or community footage tied to a specific mode — Warfare on Quảng Ngãi, Offensive on Cam Ranh Port, Conquest on Vạn Tường and Domination on Đắk Tô Airfield — but every map supports the mode rotation rather than being mode-locked.

What makes Vietnam's map design different from Hell Let Loose (WWII)

  • Visibility, not sightlines: forests, mountain passes and riverbanks mean enemies can sit motionless metres away; stealth and noise discipline matter more than long-range pre-aiming.
  • Vertical and underground movement: the NVA's tunnel networks create attacks from nowhere, and both sides climb, swim and fast-crawl through terrain the WWII game never had.
  • Water is a lane: the river network carries armed patrol boats as mobile spawns, so map edges are not safe edges.
  • Air changes the map: US helicopters cross the whole battlefield for fire support and supply drops, and the NVA answers with the static DShKM anti-air gun and tunnel repositioning.

If you are coming from the WWII game, expect the same sector-and-capture logic over bigger verticality — the community consensus since launch is that jungle maps reward slow, quiet play over sprint-and-gun pushes.
