When did Hell Let Loose: Vietnam come out?
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam released on August 13, 2026 — a Thursday digital launch on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, published by Team17 and developed by Expression Games. The game shipped without an Early Access phase, going straight to a full release in the style of a complete 1.0.
The date you see today wasn't the first one announced. The release story has two chapters, and both matter if you're trying to pin down exactly when the game landed.
The original date: June 18, 2026
Team17 and Expression Games officially confirmed the first launch date on May 14, 2026 in a "Release Date Announcement" blog: a digital launch on Thursday, June 18 for Steam, the Epic Games Store, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with physical editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X due August 4. That announcement also set the stage for a free Open Beta Weekend on Steam, running May 29 through June 1 and featuring the Thanh Hóa Bridge map.
At that point, the marketing was in full swing — editions, pre-order bonuses and a release date trailer were all lined up for the June window.
The delay to August 13
On June 2, 2026, the teams published a "Release Date Update" blog announcing the launch would move to August 13. The stated reason: additional development time to improve performance, stability and overall gameplay quality ahead of launch, based on internal testing and feedback from more than 350,000 open beta players. Unlike some postponed titles, this one was delayed once and then shipped. The official launch trailer (picked up by IGN and others) confirmed the game went live as scheduled on August 13.
What the launch included

- 50 vs 50 multiplayer across 6 large-scale maps inspired by real-world locations
- 17 battle roles across 6 battlefield units, from Commander to helicopter Pilot
- US helicopters, NVA tunnel networks and armed patrol boats for both sides
- Warfare and Offensive modes, plus alternating new modes
- Standard ($39.99) and Deluxe ($59.99) editions, with physical versions following on August 4
