The May 15, 2026 announcement set Hell Let Loose: Vietnam for June 18 with Steam pre-orders from ¥136.79, a Steam-only open beta and uniform bonus packs.

On May 15, 2026, Team17 and Expression Games put a date on Hell Let Loose: Vietnam: June 18, 2026, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement trailer cut together land, river and air combat in the tropical jungle — a first look at the scale the launch build was aiming for. (The date later moved once to August 13; the full story is on our delay page.)
Pre-orders and regional pricing
Pre-orders opened the same day. On the Chinese Steam storefront the standard edition listed at ¥136.79 with the Deluxe at ¥201.6, and the regional unlock was flagged for June 19 locally — the usual time-zone slide from the global date. Pre-ordering either edition carried the US Army boat crew uniform as a bonus.
The Deluxe edition stacked further cosmetic packs on top: an NVA naval crew uniform, ANZAC and NVA uniform bundles, plus Green Beret and SEAL uniform packs — the same Field Supplies bundle that eventually shipped with the retail Deluxe edition.
The feature list, as announced
The announcement laid out the shape of the full game, and it held up at launch:
- Six large maps based on real-world locations, with varying weather, lighting and extreme terrain.
- 50v50 multiplayer across six modes — Warfare's sector tug-of-war, Offensive's attack-versus-defend, plus four more configurations.
- 17 roles across six unit types, from the eight-man infantry roster (officer, rifleman, assault, medic, support, machine gunner, anti-tank, engineer) to helicopter crews, mortar teams and more.
- New traversal: swimming, climbing, sprint-crawling — and dragging wounded teammates out of the fire to give them a chance at treatment.
- Asymmetric tools: US pilots flying transport and fire-support helicopters, NVA tunnel networks for silent redeployment, and armed patrol boats for both sides.
- An overhauled tutorial and UI for the incoming wave of new recruits.
The pitch was emergence through command structure: no radar pinning enemies to your HUD, just officers, squad leads and seventeen specialists trying to fight as one army.
What came next
Two weeks later the Steam-only open beta weekend ran May 29 – June 1, and its 350,000-plus players ultimately pushed the launch date back once. Both chapters are covered on the evergreen pages below.
