The free open beta for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam went live on Steam on May 29, 2026, giving anyone interested a no-cost weekend with the game ahead of its launch window. Access ran through the game's Steam page — no purchase required, no console builds this round.

What the beta included

This was the full core loop, not a sliced demo: 50-versus-50 large-scale tactical combat on the Thanh Hóa Bridge map, the same maps-to-mode pairing the preview builds had showcased. Squads of players picked roles, built spawn infrastructure and fought over the bridge's sectors exactly as the retail Warfare mode plays today.

The beta window ran through June 1 — four days over a long weekend, deliberately placed before the then-planned June 18 launch so feedback could still shape the shipping build.

Why the weekend mattered

It turned out to be more than a marketing beat. More than 350,000 players went through the beta, and that volume of feedback — performance data above all — directly drove the one and only launch delay: Team17 and Expression Games moved the date from June 18 to August 13 to work on performance, stability and overall quality. Every match played that weekend is part of the reason the retail game shipped in the state it did.

If you missed it, the content itself moved on rather than vanished: Thanh Hóa Bridge launched with the full game, and a second public test — the July crossplay weekend with the airfield map — followed before release.
